Let us tell you a touching story : that of the Petta family, who came from Italy with courage and determination to offer their 5 children a better future. In 1970, Filomena and Michele Petta left their native Molise to find decent work and raise their family.
Mr Petta’s hard work in the mines and Nonna Filomena’s talent as a seamstress paid off. The Petta Group was born in the 1990s, bringing together several companies and employing over 400 people.
In 2009, the hotel adventure began when the family discovered an abandoned establishment for sale. Despite the challenges and their lack of experience in the hotel business, the Petta family took up the challenge with passion. Pauline Petta has played a key role in this transformation, from working in the kitchen to managing the business.
The DHF is much more than a hotel: it’s a warm, family-run SME that proudly employs 80 people and holds the title of Belgium’s highest hotel. A story of perseverance, success and family love.
